Oscars 2016: Leonardo DiCaprio wins Best Actor for The Revenant

As sure as the sun, the moon, and most basic laws of modern physics, Leonardo DiCaprio has won the Academy Award for Best Actor for his work in The Revenant. Presenter Julianne Moore, who won Best Actress at last year's awards, waited a respectable amount of time before announcing DiCaprio's name, as if to see if she could make time itself pause briefly in anticipation.
Born in 1974 without a statuette, Leonardo Willhelm DiCaprio has starred in over two dozen films, including Gangs of New York and The Basketball Diaries. He once had an uncredited role as Darlene's classmate in a 1991 episode of Roseanne. To date, DiCaprio has won over 40 awards and has been nominated six times for an Oscar. This is his first win. The curse is broken.
THE CURSE IS BROKEN
Following an extended applause, DiCaprio thanked fellow nominees, the cast and crew ofThe Revenant (including Best Director winnerAlejandro Iñárritu), and even past collaborators like Martin Scorcese. DiCaprio ended his with a big note on the environment:
"Climate change is real, it is happening right now, it is the most urgent threat facing our entire speices and we need to work collectively and stop procrastinating. We need to support leaders around the world... whos speak for all of humanity."
Other nominees in the category, who may or may not have even bothered to write acceptance speeches, include Bryan Cranston for Trumbo, Matt Damon for The Martian, Michael Fassbender for Steve Jobs, and Eddie Redmayne for The Danish Girl. And now, with Leo's quest at an end, it's time to start looking for the next perpetually snubbed performer to memeify.

Kanye West Announces New Album Name

Another day, more Kanye news. The fervent tweeter took to his favorite social media platform to announce his forthcoming album’s name. Just a few days ago, the artist said that he would be releasing another album this summer. His latest effort The Life of Pablo only dropped a few weeks ago and is still exclusive to TIDAL.
Well, Kanye’s next album is tentatively named Turbo Grafx 16, which we can assume is named after the old school console gaming system of the same name, possibly inspired by his love of video games. But Yeezus himself admits that the title is tentative, and is subject to change. Let us know what you think in the comments below.

Macklemore & Ryan Lewis ‘This Unruly Mess I’ve Made’ (Album Stream)

Kanye West Announces New Album

While the dust hasn’t yet settled around The Life of Pablo, Kanye West is already thinking of his next move. The self-proclaimed financially-embroiled rapper took to Twitter earlier to vent on the Grammy’s snubbing Future’s “March Madness” and A$AP Rocky’s “LSD” music video, among other topics. Amid the pot-stirring statements and “positive vibes,” however, West did take a side-bar to bluntly announce a new album:

This simple tweet begs many questions: Do you believe him? Will those songs he reportedly recorded with Drake, Future and Young Thug make the cut? Will TLOP ever see a formal, finalized release?
Your guess is as good as ours.

Generate Your Own Cover Art For Kanye West's New Album

Back when Drake released If You're Reading This, It's Too Late, start-up advisor Rik Lomas and graphic designer Simon Whybraydelighted the internet by building a website where users could create their own cover art for the record.
In the wake of Kanye West's The Life Of Pablo Madison Square Gardens premiere yesterday, the pair have teamed up again and produced another time-swallowing site that allows anyone with a browser to get creative with T.L.O.P's Peter De Potter-designed artwork. (One of them, anyway.)
Head over to the D.I.Y cover generator here and get busy.

The second entry in DC and Warner Bros. Pictures’ Justice League universe — following 2013′s Man of Steel— is right around the corner, so now fans are getting what is being billed as the “official final trailer” for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. The Zack Snyder-directed Dawn of Justice will hit theaters March 25.

You'll Have To Pick A Side For ‘Captain America: Civil War’. So What Side Are You On? Watch The New Trailer

One of the dopest scenes is seeing Tony Stark blocking a point-blank gun shot from Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan), better known as The Winter Soldier.
Without any sign of Tom Holland‘s Spider-Man, Stark poignantly tells someone off-camera, “You chose the wrong side,” leading us to wonder if he was talking to everyone’s favorite arachnid superhero. All in all, the trailer has done well in stoking attention over that other comic book movie, DC Comics’ Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice.
Additionally, Scarlett JohanssonAnthony MackieEmily VanCampDon Cheadle,Jeremy RennerPaul BettanyElizabeth Olsen and Paul Rudd will be starring alongside Cap and Iron Man in the third installment of this wildly popular franchise.Captain America: Civil War will be the only other big Marvel movie alongside Doctor Strange, starring Benedict Cumberbatch, to be released this year.
Captain America: Civil War will be directed by Joe and Anthony Russo from a script byWinter Soldier writers Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely. Expect the battle to rage online for awhile until the picture finally hits theaters on May 6, 2016.
