Disney's Research Hub Creates a Wheeled Robot That Can Climb Walls

Created in partnership between Disney and ETH Zurich, the VertiGo is a nimble, four-wheeled robot that has been developed with the uncanny ability to effortlessly scale walls. The way it does this is at once ingenious and old-fashion — two articulating propellers not only provide forward thrust to the robot, but can also push the gadget against the wall to prevent it from falling. This means that the robot can effectively scale any surface no matter how uneven, until its batteries run out. Check out the robot in action above, and click here for more robot action.

WATCH AN ANIMATED VERSION OF THE WU-TANG CLAN/BILL MURRAY HEIST

ProbCause has graced our pages before as a rapper (the Chicago artist has worked with Action Bronson and Chance the Rapper), but he returns today as an animator.

You should be pretty familiar with this Wu-Tang/Bill Murray/Martin Shkreli space opera we’ve been suffering through, and ProbCause was inspired enough to team up with Elijah Alvarado to create an animated story of the heist, which is, sadly, still fictional.

The two expertly use sampled dialogue from Murray’s movies and Wu-Tang clips, and even sneak in an unveiled jab at Donald Trump and his mouth at the end. Nice one.

Kendrick Lamar Brings Fan On Stage to Rap His Song, Fan Drops His New Single Instead

During a recent concert in Houston, Kendrick Lamar pulled a fan on stage as part of a skit to help him recite lyrics. Instead, the concert-goer, who goes by the name "Corporate Dough," didn't quite recite the lyrics to Kendrick's song, but instead, dropped his new single off the rip. Pretty hilarious, you can watch above while a closer angle of the performance can also be seen here.

Meet the Animator Behind Star Wars, Jurassic Park & Starship Troopers

Phil Tippett is not a name many outside the world of animation are familiar with, but he is responsible for designing and bringing to life some of the most iconic creatures of films from the last four decades, most notably the Star Wars trilogy, Jurassic ParkStarship Troopers, RoboCop, and even consulting on the Twilight franchise. In this documentary, VICE covers the journey of the Oscar and BAFTA-winning stop-motion animator from an “idiot” (in Tippett’s own words) who created primitive stop-motion sequences using G.I. Joe toys and an 8mm film camera to the scorn of his parents, to his LSD trip on the set of Return of the Jedi, and his near-death experience during Jurassic Park, and to today where Tippett devotes all of his time and effort to what will be his dystopian magnum opus, Mad God. While the likes of George Lucas and Steven Spielberg have reaped most of the credit and publicity for these blockbusters, we ultimately have Tippett to thank for bringing these concepts to life and inspiring the far-fetched dreams of multiple generations of children.

The Weeknd and Belly Party Hard in "Might Not" Video

After collaborating with French Montana for “Dealer Plated”, rapper Belly joins fellow Canadian and XO comrade The Weeknd for his “Might Not” music video. The track is part of Belly’s Up For Days mixtape, which was released back in May with Roc Nation. The visuals for the track include the duo traipsing around a house in a drunken stupor, partying alongside scantily-clad women. The surreal second half of the video features Belly underwater as he chases a bottle of pills into a bathtub that morphs into an ocean. Artfully-shot scenes of women surround him as he returns to the party with The Weeknd in a drug-fueled haze. Watch the video for “Might Not” above.
