New Music: Charlie Hilton - Pony

Charlie Hilton is the lead singer of Blouse, an awesome band from Portland, Oregon who are signed to the always great record label Captured Tracks. She has just announced details of a new album, her debut as a solo artist, as well as sharing the first single from it "Pony". The album features production from Unknown Mortal Orchestra’s Jacob Portrait and Woods’ Jarvis Taveniere, with a guest feature from label mate Mac DeMarco who plays and sings on the record’s last track "100 Million".
The album’s title, Palana, is a nod to Hilton’s given Sanskrit name which she has since relinquished in favour of Charlie. In a press release Hilton shared a quote from Hermann Hesse’sSteppenwolf which she cites as a personal mantra:
"Man is not by any means of fixed and enduring form...he is much more an experiment and a transition...."
Take a listen to "Pony" below. It’s a pumping psychedelic track which will have fans of Blouse chomping at the bit for more.
Palana is out January 22 with Captured Tracks. Head here to pre-order.
