The film tells the story of ‘peculiar children’, endowed with special and unusual powers and abilities who live under the watchful eye of Miss Peregrine (Eva Green), a shape-shifting matriarch who can turn into a bird at will. Speaking to Empire, Burton told us that Miss Peregrine is a “weird Mary Poppins like character - a strong and mysterious person who looks like she could turn into a bird. That’s Eva.”
This two-and-a-half-minute trailer gives us a good idea of some of the peculiarities we can expect, which includes invisibility, flight, strength, and in the case of one memorable child, jagged monster-like teeth in the back of her head.
The film stars Eva Green, Asa Butterfield, Ella Purnell, Chris O'Dowd,Allison Janney, Terence Stamp, Rupert Everett, Judi Dench and Samuel L. Jackson, plus a large ensemble of young newcomers.
Miss Peregrine’s Home For Peculiar Children swoops into US cinemas on September 30, before a UK release on October 7.
