BeTheSpartan Album Review - Alt J: This Is All Yours

Album Review: Alt J "This Is Al Yours"

Band: Alt J

Category: Alternative/Indie-Rock

Album Name: This Is All Yours

Alt j's Latest Album Can Be Called Both A Continuation And An ugrade from their 2012 Debut album "An Awesome Wave"

A Continuation;
Listening to the Intro Off "This is all yours", you might be reminded by the Intro of "An Awesome Wave" but with more "Epicness" and twists maybe because  both span 2:37 and 4:38 Respectively or because The intro of "This is all yours" was obviously composed with more instruments and effort.

An Upgrade;
"An Awesome Wave" Was Their debut album but it was still awesome, but "This Is All Yours" definitely shows the the band have grown grown in skill even though there are some songs in this album that may make you wonder why they are there. But im sure that will be fixed in their next studio album. Scroll below for a song by song review from "This Is All Yours"

1 Intro;
This is almost too fitting for an album opener. It is suprising as it is loud And as Epic as it is fast paced and it can be viewed as a fitting sequel for the previous album's Intro 9/10

2 Arrival in Nara;
This, I Think, is to serve as a a means to take the Egde of After listening  to the intro (Thats if you have not taken it back Half a dozen times already) Although after a while it starts sounding a bit stale and slow 6/10

3 Nara;
This Takes you back to the heights of the intro with a calm begining, a Loud satisfactory middle and an even slower end 8/10

4 Every Other Freckle;
This will remind you of The Hit "Breezeblocks" Just with more weirdness and a beat to skip to 9/10

5 Left Hand Free;
Guiter ridden Lines and a beat Pumping Chorus. This one is simply awesome 9/10

6 Garden Of England;
This One tries and fails to be Interlude 1 from "An Awesome Wave" Unless you are an 80 year old
with anger management issues 3/10

7 Choice Kingdom;
This will simply remind you Indie Rock has a weird side 7/10

8 Hunger Of The Pine;
This is the peak of awesomeness, It just makes you Love the band again with it's catchy tune and it's sure to stick in your head for an extremely long time 9/10

9 Warm Foothills;
This is simply a sad song, like for breakups and Finding your other half and stuff. But you hear a woman's voice in it soooo........ That's Something 5/10

10 The Gospel Of John Hurt;
The song just proves that titles can be decieving. You won't even know know the name of the song once you've listened to it. While clicking play to listen to the life and times of an old actor, you get carefully placed beats and lyrics 8/10

11 Pusher;
While this might sound like burial song, it actually has a message that some (Not Me) can relate to 7/10

12 Bloodflood pt 2;
If you loved Loved Pt 1 from "An Awesome Wave" You would find this irresisteble 9/10

13 Leaving Nara;
A fitting end for the Three Part 'Nara' series You will be satisfied after listning to this 8/10

14 A lovely Day (Bonus Track)
This one might seem unappealing when first listened to. It won't even stay in your head. but if you calm down and listen to it, you will find out it's a pretty Awesome remix to bill withers' 1977 song  8/10
